Q: When will the program start?
A: The program is currently live. As contractors are registered or enrolled, we will use the revenue numbers provided as starting points for the ASI tiers. POS data will then be used to define the ASI tier eligibility on a semi-annual basis and certificates will be issued annually. Rewards are accrued beginning May 23, 2024.
Q: When an ASI achieves the next status level – say from Silver to Gold in the middle of the year – when are the benefits and credits provided?
A: Johnson Controls will perform a semi-annual check on tier status and upgrade contractors who have earned the higher status.
Q: It looks like we can have our contractors sign up at any level we choose for the first year. I assume many will sign up for a higher category than they belong. Will there be a penalty for not meeting the standards of the first year, in addition to being demoted?
A:. Contractor performance will be evaluated at the end of FY24. Any overestimated contractors will be placed in their appropriate tiers after the next full fiscal year, FY25.
Q: What if there is a two-person company selling Gold-level dollars? Will they stay at a Silver level if they don’t have a third licensed person?
A: Yes, they will stay at the Silver level. All eligibility requirements for a tier need to be met to obtain rewards at that tier.
Q: How long are ASI Bucks valid for?
A: All claims must be submitted by October 31 of the following fiscal year.
Q: Is there a format for the data to be uploaded?
A: Yes, the format is shown in the demo video within the recording. Also see the Sample File Template within the ASI Loyalty Program portal, accessible through Solution Navigator.
Q: What if the customer was AX-Certified and not N4- Certified?
A: N4 certification is required.
Q: What if training was done through Train the Trainer?
A: Train the Trainer evidence/certification will need to be provided by the contractor, and training will be approved if it meets Johnson Controls training requirements.
Q: How do we handle contractors who have been implementing CCT for years but do not have a Johnson Controls CCT Training Certificate? Will Train the Trainer be sufficient?
A: To be eligible for ASI benefits, contractors need to provide evidence of up-to-date training from Johnson Controls or equivalent. If Train the Trainer certification meets Johnson Controls training requirements, it will be sufficient. Contractors will have to provide evidence of certification for Johnson Controls to review.
Q: Is the #3028 training course a new requirement? Is there a Train the Trainer for this course? What is the grace period for contractors to be trained?
A: No, this course has been available since 2022. There is no Train the Trainer for this course and the grace period extends to the end of 2024.
Q: The ASI technician has taken the Johnson Controls #4714 course and is an N4-certified instructor. How does the training requirement work with their existing certifications?
A: The technician will still need to take #3028 and provide proof of N4 certification (#4720, #3720 or third-party).
Q: Do Triatek, Ruskin and other parts count toward the total purchase?
A: Yes, Triatek, Ruskin and Johnson Controls-branded damper and AFMS products fit within the HVAC/R and I/O revenue targets.
Q: Regarding the submission for each contractor to Johnson Controls, it appears we need to submit each particular sale item and the cost we sold it at? Is this correct?
A: Yes, each Johnson Controls item needs to be submitted at contractor sell-to price. An upload template is available on the tool for mass uploads.
Q: Does the point-of-sale data represent the contractor purchase price or the cost to Johnson Controls?
A: The contractor purchase price.
Q: If a contractor is purchasing through two distributors (e.g., one distributor sells $100K and the other distributor sells $500K), who credits if the contractor wants to use ASI Bucks with the first distributor?
A: Since the rebate is from Johnson Controls to the contractor and through the distributor, it does not matter which distributor credits. The decision can be made at the contractor’s discretion.
Q: How should Canadian contractor purchase dollars in Canadian dollars be reported? Are Canadian contractors expected to hit U.S. dollar revenue targets?
A: Canadian contractor purchase dollars can be reported in Canadian dollars – the system will automatically convert the reports to U.S. dollars. However, the revenue targets remain in U.S. dollars. Canadian dollar sales will be converted to U.S. dollars using the reporting day’s exchange rate.
